First Planet

The rebirth of Willy Nfor’s Mighty Flames draws inspiration from the space-age cosmic funk of Parliament. The band was comprised of session musician via Cameroon who were attracted to the heavy funk sounds that were coming out of Lagos.

This release is a part of Voodoo Funk’s Lagos Disco Inferno 12″ series. It takes the two stand out tracks from First Planet’s self-titled 1980 LP and reissues them as a 12″. Pressing is limited to 1,000 copies and includes a fold-out 12″x24″ poster.
